R.A.C.E. - Regular And Comprehensive Eye Care to control Avoidable Blindness- First Free Eye Camp was conducted in 1995. Eye clinic was started in 1997.
- Our Hospital got recognized as Base Hospital in 2002 by Government of Gujarat.
- Appreciated by the Government in 2003, 2004, 2007, 2008 & 2009, 2010, 2011 and then every year.
- Dr. Dinesh was appointed as Founder Trustee of Vision 2020 Right to Sight in 2005 and is a Executive Member of Vision 2020 Gujarat Chapter.
- A well equipped Shantaben S. Kothari Eye Hospital was inaugurated on 27-01-08.
- Grant of Rs 25 lacs was sanctioned for its up gradation by Government in 2008-09.
- Approved to start Diploma in Ophthalmic Technology from 2010.
- We wish to start Mobile Van & Sub-Center at Himmatnagar/Dungarpur by 2015-16.
- Apart
from free out-reach camps, on every Wednesday and Saturday screening of vision & every Tuesday and Friday Cataract surgery is performed free at base hospital.
- The ratio of free & paid treatment is 75% & 25 approximately.
- Help Age India is one of our major donor since 1999.
- In 2015 we are collaborating with Help Age India & Help Me See to control avoidable blindness in our target area and to make it Cataract Free & Aware Zone.
- We work in close association of Government, National NGOs like Help Age India & local organizations like Sarjan Foundation, Angira Ashram, Red Cross, Rotary club.
- We have performed more than 17,304 Free Cataract Surgeries till February, 2015. Year wise break up in as shown below.
